Can I order I custom piece and how long will it take?
We absolutely do make custom work! Albert is an accomplished goldsmith and silversmith with an extensive portfolio. We like to say, "If you can draw it, he can make it." He has done fairly simply things like setting a customer's stones in something new, to carving intricate designs in wax and casting them in a variety of metals, to hand-forging sculptural pieces.
Al has done hundreds of custom designed wedding sets and has also designed rings to compliment couples' original sets.
The only downside to getting an original creation is that it tends to take a few months. Albert is currently turning customs jobs at 90 to 120 days. If you have a custom piece you would like to be done, we encourage you to come in Wednesday-Sunday and talk to Albert.

How much do you charge to clean a ring?
We clean all pieces purchased at Touch of Silver, Gold & Old for free. We also do a stone check free with every cleaning. If you come in with several pieces not purchased at the shop, we don’t charge for the first one, but ask a minimal fee for any others after that.
Do you make all of your jewelry?
We carry a large selection of jewelry, too many pieces to make here at the shop! Albert and Carol travel all over the country to hand-pick all of the treasures we sell. Albert does make several designs that we continually restock and we also carry several local artists’ work.
Do you size rings?
We do! We can size 90% of gold, silver, and platinum rings with exceptions to inlayed rings, rings with lots of small stones, and other exceptional cases. We have our prices listed above under the "Do you repair jewelry?".
Do you have sales?
We have one sale a year that is for a month, typically from February to March. Everything in the store is 25% off and if customers bring in canned goods or make a cash donation to the charity we choose each year, they receive an additional 5% off. This is the only sale we do the whole year so we do it right! Sign up for our e-newsletter to make sure you are notified of the sale dates.
How can I get updates about new jewelry, sales, specials, etc.?
We send our email newsletters that updates subscribers on new inventory, birthstones, and events happening at the shop. We also send a yearly postcard to remind customers about our February Sale. Sometimes the postcard or emails have specials only available to subscribers. To sign up for our emails, find our link on our Facebook, or sign up via our website link.
Do you offer a layaway program?
We understand that you may not have the full amount upfront for your perfect treasure, so we offer a layaway program. We require at least a 20% down payment for all items. Payment is required at least every 30 days and layaway defaults are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
Any items that have been altered (sized, engraved, converted or changed at the customer's request) are only eligible for in-store credit.

How did you learn all of your skills?
Albert is self-taught through reading books and experimenting. He has taken a few specific classes on soldering or gemstones, but has mostly learned all of his skills through reading and experience.
Do you buy jewelry?
We buy gold, platinum, and silver scrap for cash or in store credit.
If you choose to use in store credit, the payout is 20% higher. Sometimes if a piece is in good condition and sellable, we offer higher payout than scrap value so we can add it to our Estate Case.
We never purchase jewelry over the phone, so if you are interested, bring in your jewelry and ask for Albert.
